Everyone knows we are not believed to have a voice. When we beg them to let go, we expect them to say no, because our bodies are not ours, because we are in debt to men, because without them we wouldn’t be alive. We couldn’t survive. I don’t want to be a women if it means I am unheard, unworthy unless I am pretty. That my intelligence has no value if my legs aren’t spread out for you. It hurts to see that we still condone these abusive behaviours. It hurts to see that they are not acknowledged by others. It hurts to see what Simone de Beauvoir said best: We are The Second Sexe.
